Bingo Policy
🎟 Bingo Policy
Edmonton Ringette Association
Bingo fundraising is a critical part of supporting Edmonton Ringette’s programs, helping offset rising operational costs such as ice time, equipment, and player development. Participation ensures we can maintain high-quality programming while keeping registration fees as affordable as possible.
📌 Why Bingo Matters
Bingo fundraising is essential to the financial sustainability of our Association. Revenue from bingo events contributes significantly to our annual budget and supports:
- Ice costs and facility access
- Equipment replacement and maintenance
- Player and goalie development programs
- General operations and programming
Participation from all eligible families helps ensure we meet our fundraising goals and maintain program quality.
👨👩👧👦 Bingo Commitment Requirements
For the 2026-2027 season:
- Approximately 250 families are registered each year
- Exemptions include:
- Head Coaches
- Team Managers
- Board Members
- After exemptions, the remaining families are required to complete bingo shifts
- A total of 169 bingo shifts must be filled annually
This means nearly every eligible family is required to participate.
Volunteer Requirement
Each designated family must:
- Complete the required bingo shift(s) assigned during the season
- Fulfill their obligation personally or through a suitable replacement (as permitted by policy/waiver)
- Ensure all responsibilities outlined in the Bingo Waiver and Guidelines (signed at registration) are followed
💲 Opt-Out Fee
Families who do not fulfill their bingo commitment will be charged:
- $200 non-participation fee
This fee helps offset the lost fundraising revenue required to operate the Association.
Fairness & Participation
The bingo system is designed to be:
- Fair - Responsibilities are distributed across eligible families
- Transparent - Expectations and fees are clearly defined
- Sustainable - Ensures reliable fundraising year-to-year
Participation is especially important as the number of required shifts closely matches the number of eligible families.
📝 Waiver & Compliance
All participating families must:
- Follow all procedures, conduct expectations, and AGLC requirements
- Arrive on time and complete the full duration of the shift
Failure to follow requirements may result in:
- Shift being considered incomplete
- Additional fees or reassignment
📅 Scheduling & Sign-Up
- Bingo dates and sign-up instructions are communicated throughout the season
- Shifts are assigned or selected based on availability and scheduling processes
- Upcoming bingo opportunities are shared via:
- Email
- Team communications
- Website updates
- Social Media
